Dr. Debarka Sengupta is an Institute Chair Professor in the departments of Computational Biology and Computer Science at IIIT-Delhi and currently serves as the Head of the Infosys Centre for Artificial Intelligence at the same institute. Additionally, he holds the position of Adjunct Professor at Queensland University of Technology-Brisbane (QUT). Dr. Sengupta completed his doctoral and post-doctoral research in the Machine Intelligence Unit of the Indian Statistical Institute and the Genome Institute of Singapore, respectively. His research group introduced Big Data algorithms to single-cell omics analysis and developed multiple interdisciplinary solutions in the areas of blood-based cancer detection and personalized treatment.
